Praise God, our school has a place to call home in Roseland, Virginia. Thanks to a generous team of supporters and much prayer, we have purchased 176 acres of rolling hills, shady hardwood groves, and babbling creeks on which to build our campus.
We closed on our property (fittingly) on May 19th, the Feast of St. Dunstan. In celebration the following day, we ascended the hills to the north of the grounds, to the site of our future Great Hall, to sing hymns of praise and thanksgiving and enjoy festivity in good company. Fr. Sean McDermott and Fr. Glenn Spencer led our group in Evening Prayer, and All Saints Anglican music director Ken Myers led us in singing “For the Beauty of the Earth” and “Master of Eager Youth,” both apt hymns for St. Dunstan’s Academy. Local music teacher and organist Dan Warren taught the group a simple table grace sung in rounds. The remainder of the evening was full of fellowship, hikes, old barn investigations, and a crowd of jubilant children cheering the teenage boys on in their lawn games. Many thanks to all who came to celebrate with us! We look forward to making our patronal feast celebration a tradition and hope many of you will be able to join us in future years.
Grace and peace be with you all,
