This upcoming Tuesday, February 24th, being the Feast of St. Matthias, I will be speaking on “Masculinity in a Disembodied Age” at 7:00 PM at the Center for Christian Study at the University of Virginia.
My first experience at the Study Center was hearing theologian Hans Boersma speak about his book Heavenly Participation years back. Most recently I attended a lecture from my friend, the great an inimitable sociologist Joe Davis, on challenges of contemporary adolescence.
All of which is to say that speaking at the Study Center is a remarkable privilege and honor.
There’ll be dessert and snacks, and the Study Center has just finished a really superb renovation, so lots of good reasons to attend, entirely apart from me. If you’re in the central Virginia area — come on out!
